Primitive Containers
This class will teach primitive basketry and ceramic skills - using your bare hands and a few easily crafted tools.
Discover how to source and process your own clay and temper. (We'll actually dig clay in the class!)
Learn to make a clay bowl and several decorative items.
Fire some pre-made ceramics to take the class "full circle"!
Learn to make your own wicker basket and use the coals from a fire to burn out a wooden bowl.
This is part of the Fieldcraft Friday series, and is availble for the lower tuition rate of $97 per person.
This class will be offered Friday, October 14th, 2022, 9am to 4pm, rain or shine
Course Location: Near Stafford, Va. Detailed directions are emailed upon enrollment.
Required Equipment: Bag lunch and drinks for yourself, appropriate clothing and wet weather gear for the expected weather, a pocket knife (any kind) and a pen to take notes.
Recommended Equipment: Some seating is available at camp, but please bring a camp chair if you have one.
